Pendleton Selected as 2007 Farmwoman

Debbie Pendleton was recognized by the Scioto Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) as the 2007 Outstanding Farmwoman. Annually, the Scioto SWCD recognizes a Scioto County woman who contributes significantly to agriculture. Shawnee State Park Naturalist and family friend, Jenny Richards, presented Pendleton with the award at the Scioto SWCD Annual Banquet.

“Debbie’s obligation to local farmers is an asset to all of us,” says Scioto SWCD Administrator Debby Basham. Pendleton’s willingness to help farmers and offer advice to remedy problems they are experiencing has been a benefit for many agriculture producers in the area. Basham adds, “Debbie’s obligation to our farmers is apparent in her involvement in the agriculture community.” For several years, Pendleton has served on the Scioto Farm Service Agency County Committee.

Pendleton manages an equine operation and maintains several hundred acres of conservation land owned by her neighbor. She and her husband Bucky also operate a sawmill on their property in Nile Township.
