Envirothon Rules

Review the enclosed rules in order to understand the procedures and expectations. Districts have received resource materials. You may contact your local Soil and Water Conservation District Office at 259-9231 for more information on these reference materials.

  1. Teams must have at least five students listed on their registration sheet to be eligible to advance to the State Competition. In the event of an emergency, you are recommended to list alternates on your registration sheet.

  2.
  3. The team captain, not the coach, will be required to register his/her team this year.

  4.
  5. To be in line with the State Competition, coaches will be assigned to a group and are required to take the tests. Check with the registration table upon your arrival. YOU WILL NOT BE PREMITTED TO GO WITH YOUR TEAMS AT ANY TIME! This policy will be strictly enforced. If you want pictures or your teams, give them a camera and the monitors at the testing stations will be glad to take their picture.

  6.
  7. NO ALTERNATES WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE COMPETITION UNLESS THEY ARE REPLACING A REGULAR TEAM MEMBER! If alternates come with you, neither you nor the alternate will be permitted to go to the testing stations with your team.

  8. SMOKING AND THE USE OF ANY TOBACCO PRODUCTS (INCLUDING SMOKELESS TOBACCO) BY ANYONE AT THE COMPETITION, INCLUDING COACHES, IS PROHIBITED.

After Registering, advisors will receive a more detailed list of rules

Other Things to Know

  • Please bring one clipboard (no metal hinged storage clipboards allowed) per team and several number two pencils. Tests will be graded by machine and NUMBER TWO PENCILS ARE REQUIRED! Book bags, backpacks, large camera bags, large pocketbooks, or resource materials will be allowed at the competition.

We will provide apples and water during registration for the students to eat during the competition, since lunch is scheduled until 12:10. You must bring drinks for your lunch.

If rain has fallen anytime through the week, the site will be muddy, so students should wear appropriate shoes. Students should also come prepared for who insects and poison ivy. If HANDICAP EQUIPMENT is needed on the day of the competition, please notify your local Soil and Water Conservation Office at 259-9231 as soon as possible.

  •
  • Teams will be finalized the week prior to the competition. A district representative will contact you during the week to get your final team list. Your captains will still need to pick up team materials when you arrive.
