Marcheta Ferguson Hired as Wildlife Specialist/Conservation Technician

Recently, the Scioto Soil and Water Conservation District hired Marcheta Ferguson to serve as a Wildlife Specialist and Conservation Technician for the district.  "The new position will be a great benefit to Scioto County landowners," says Scioto SWCD Chairman Don Gleim.  Through the efforts of Ferguson, the Scioto SWCD will be better able to solve problems that Scioto County landowners face concerning nuisance wildlife and other conservation issues.

Ferguson, a 2003 graduate of Moorehead State University with a degree in Agriculture Science and Economics, has already proven to be an asset to the Scioto SWCD.  Since starting with the district, she has assisted Scioto County Game Protector Darrin Abbott in the region to assist with programs and address wildlife issues in Scioto County.

In addition to solving wildlife concerns, Ferguson will assist with survey, design, and construction of conservation practices that have been approved through state and federal conservation incentive programs.

Marcheta and her husband Marty maintain an equine operation at their home near Otway.  A native of Adams County, she is involved with the Adams County 4-H.
