Spear Recognized for Service

The Scioto SWCD Board of Supervisors honored Gregg Spear for the seven years he served as the District's Technician.  Gregg, who lives in Gallia County, began working with the Scioto SWCD in April 2000, bringing over twenty years of knowledge and experience to the technician position.  In September, Gregg left the district to pursue a position with the Gallia County Health Department to be closer to home. During his seven years with the Scioto SWCD, Gregg was responsible for designing and constructing numerous conservation projects and working with landowners to implement conservation on agriculture land in Scioto County. In addition to assisting Scioto County farmers, Gregg closely worked with local loggers and the Southern Ohio Loggers Chapter to build a strong relationship between loggers and the Scioto SWCD. Gregg’s expertise will be missed by those who have worked with him during his tenure with the Scioto SWCD.
